Super learning and Celebration Days

We base our Super Learning Days on different themes each year.

Our last Super Learning Day was maths across the whole school.  Parents/carers were invited to work with their children in the classroom.  The positive feedback received from our parents/carers marked this a successful and worthwhile opportunity for both parents/carers and the children to learn with each other.

Throughout the academic year, we celebrate different cultural events and hold special assemblies and themed Celebration Days.  The children may dress up or wear party clothes dependant upon the theme.  These events bring together all different cultures and backgrounds, helping the children learn and appreciate the diversity and the need to embrace other cultures.

Some of the celebrations have included:-

  • African Stories by a story teller
  • Making a wreath of hands for Kwanza
  • Friendship bracelets for Buddhism
  • Henna hand patterns & Bollywood Dancing
  • Teachings of Guru Nanak on the hanging of flags for Sikhism
  • Banner with Arabic writing for Eid Mubarak
  • Various Christmas decorations including Rudolf cups
  • Christmas Concerts
  • Chinese New Year assembly
