Gup Shup is a parent drop-in session run by Mrs Bali and is held in the Green Room on Monday afternoons between 2:30 and 3:30 pm.
Parents enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and informally chat to other parents. We talk about events in school and how you as parents, can support your children at home. This is the ideal opportunity to share best practises and learn from each other in a friendly and informal way.
All parents/carers welcome.
Here are some comments from parents/carers who have attended these drop-in sessions:-
"I enjoy coming the the drop in sessions, they help me to help my son with his homework and I understand the language they speak at school."
"This drop in session is very useful and helps me to work with my child to do his homework. I now understand how the school teaches."
"Friendly, helpful, useful - lovely atmosphere!"
"This is very helpful for me as I don't have the knowledge of this country's education system as I am from Pakistan. My son is very keen to do the work which Mrs Bali sets for him. Weekends are, 'I must do Mrs Bali's work' ... this is all because of the drop-in session." Mrs Iqbal
"These drop-in sessions really do help, I now know what my child is learning about and how I can help him to enjoy while he learns and if there's any problems, what we need to address. Meeting with other parents helps us learn new methods." Ms S Brierley
I really enjoy attending the numeracy classes with Mrs Bali on Mondays. I really like to find out different methods of Maths and to discover how the children work too! Nafisah Akmal mum
