Applying to start full time school?

The closing date is the 15th of January before the school year in which your child will start full time school in the Reception year group at primary school.

Children born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008 will start September 2012

Children born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 will start September 2013

Please note : Applications received after the closing date of 15 January will be considered as late.  This can severely reduce your chances of obtaining a place at one of your preferred schools, as late applications are not considered until places have been allocated to all on-time applicants.  This means that when late applications are dealt with, many popular schools may already be full.

If your application is late but you feel you have a significant or exceptional reason, such as a move into Kirklees after the closing date, you must contact the School Admissions Team for advice.  You will be required to provide evidence of your circumstances.
