Day 10

Good morning,

Here are your tasks for Day 10:

Phonics:

Today you will be focusing on the long u sound made using the u_e split digraph.

Here is a PowerPoint to read through first of all:

This text contains lots of u_e split digraph words. Some sound like 'oo' and some sound like 'you'.

Can you make two lists of u_e split digraph words that sound like 'oo' and 'you'?

                        oo                  you

                      ruler             computer

                                             rude                cute

Reading:

Here are three more of the Reading comprehension tasks. You are aiming to read the text in under 60 seconds, so practise to improve your fluency.

Aim to spend 30-40 minutes on Reading, doing one, two or three texts.

Writing:

For today's writing task, I would like you to describe a fairy tale character of your choice and create a text similar to 'Wanted'.

Who will you choose?

Maths:

Mental and Oral Starter Activity:

Select the MULTIPLICATION carriage and then play the games to practise your times tables. Remember, you should be really good with your 2x, 5x and 10 x, but then feel free to practise the harder ones.

Arrays in Maths are special patterns that help us with our times tables.

Work through this PowerPoint and I'm sure you'll be able to spot why they're so special:

Here are today's worksheets:

Geography:

I'm sure you would love another go at the activities from Day 9:

Let's see how good you are with compass directions: North, South, East and West.

There are three different compass direction tasks with answers.
