Day 4

Good morning!laugh

Here are your activities for Day 4:

Phonics

Have a go at writing these words:

Can you write a sentence with the word 'he'?

Can you write a sentence with the word 'will'?

Don't forget your capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Play Pick A Picture: Click Phase 3.

https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/3/pick-a-picture

We are currently recapping Phase 3 sounds. Read these sentences and answer yes or no.

Let's recap these sounds:

                                                                         z             zz

Can you write a list of words with these sounds in? Here are some examples:

zip, zoom, zoo

buzz, fizz, jazz

Can you put one of these words into a sentence and write it?

Reading

Have a go at reading these sentences. (The numbers down the side just tell you how many words there are.) Once you have understood the text, answer the questions.

Writing

Linked to your reading task, I would like you to create your own treasure map. Draw a map and mark the hidden treasure with an 'X'.

Write a simple set of instructions to describe where the treasure can be found. Here is my example:

1. Walk through the hallway.

2. Walk into the kitchen.

3. Walk outside into the garden.

4. Dig a hole next to the blue plant pot.

5. You should see the treasure!

Maths

Today we are going to discuss capacity.

Here are some key words:

Can you get a cup and fill it up so that it is half full?

Can you get a cup and fill it up so that it is nearly empty?

Can you get a cup and fill it up so that it is full?

Can you get a cup and fill it up so that it is nearly full?

Look through this PowerPoint and help the monsters find their milkshakes!
