Good morning 1S! laugh

Happy Friday! I hope you have woken up feeling positive and energised. Have you done anymore acts of kindness? This weekend I am going to drop some food shopping off for my mum and dad- I will leave it on their door step. Let’s hope the sun comes back and we can have a relaxing weekend!

Here is the link if you would like to start your day with Joe Wicks PE:

Here are some activities to complete today:

We're going to do things in a slightly different order today as I have something special to share with you which will be today's Reading task.

Below is the first issue of the Fixby Family Newsletter all about what some of the children from school have been doing during their 'lockdown'. Read through all of the pages and then there's a quiz for you to do, too. I hope you enjoy this.

Here is the quiz to complete:

Phase 5 Alternative Spellings /oa/. You will need to log in to access this game.

Username: march20

Password: home

Phase 5

Then scroll down to ‘Phase 5c Interactive Resources - Weeks 8-30’ and find ‘Alternative Spellings /oa/’.

In ‘Phoneme Spotter’ you need to see how many different graphemes you can find for the /oa/ phoneme- you could list the words. In ‘Word Sort’ you need to read the word, then sort it to the grapheme used.

Please continue to practise your ‘11.05.20 Spellings’ for our test next week.

Break time

Time for a break! Go Noodle- Be Kind To Yourself

Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the ‘Maths’ Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 6 Day 5 today. Did you get 4/4 correct?

Warm up: Order 4 objects by length. Describe them using vocabulary such as: shortest, longer, longest.

Friday is challenge day!

Access the Home Learning on White Rose Maths.

1) Click on

2) Click ‘Summer Term - Week 4 (w/c 11th May) Friday Maths Challenge

3) Click 'Get the challenges'. If you can't print this off, could you write your answers down on a piece of paper?

4) Click 'Get the answers'. Can somebody mark this for you?

Here is a problem to finish with:

I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now!

Here's a PowerPoint so that you can learn all about it so that you'll sound like a real expert when you do your writing:

Here's what you'll need to record. Remember to look back at the PowerPoint to make sure that your information is accurate.

Keep this work safe as you will need to use this for Monday's task next week.

Learning For Life

Today we are going to think about the special people in our lives. The person you choose may be someone who is keeping you safe and helping you with your home learning right now or it may be someone that you haven't been able to meet up with recently.

Work through this PowerPoint to get you thinking and then complete the spider-gram task.

Your task is to draw or write about the ways you show care for each other.

A great way to finish off the week would be to read this special story.

Have a brilliant day and I will speak to you again on Monday! laugh
