Friday 15th May 2020

It's Friday!

Miss North: It's the last day of the working week, then 2 days of relaxing! I hope you've had a lovely week. The weather has been up and down all week, so I've spent the majority of my time indoors, but fingers crossed it gets warmer in the next couple of days.

I've been busy working on your reports and finishing the project that myself and some other teachers have been working on. Click the link below to find out what it is...

Mrs Buttery: Wow Miss North! That project is amazing! It is lovely to be able to read what some of the children have been up to. I spent yesterday writing some more reports and then playing in the garden with George. He has a toy lawnmower and spends all of his time pretending to cut the grass.

Here is today's work. Scroll down to see your daily afternoon work. Make sure that you click your groups folder to do the correct work.

If you work with Miss Johnson, please use the work from the folder below:

Writing

I would like you to write your setting description today about the Secret Garden. You will describe the garden as you enter it. What you can see, hear, smell, touch and how you feel. Make sure that you use your planning sheet from yesterday.

I have attached a lined sheet with a border that you could print and write on. If you can't print this don't worry, you can write it in your exercise book or on a sheet of paper.

I am looking forward to reading these, so please ask your grown ups to email me a copy.

Nature!

We are going to stay with the Garden theme. You may be carrying on with your wildlife journal to see if there are any different creatures in your garden or outside area today.

I have attached a life cycle activity, you need to cut out the cards for the different life cycles and put them in the correct order. Share your answers with your grown ups and see if they agree with you.

I have also attached a sheet for you to design your own ideal garden. Think about what you would like in there. How can you encourage nature into your garden? Will you have a bug hotel or a bird bath? Will you have roses or a large green lawn for football? I look forward to seeing your designs. I would like some lovely flower beds in my ideal garden with a nice patio and some comfortable chairs to sit and read.

Finish the afternoon off by being active. I have attached some of the online PE lessons below, but you could also go on a walk with your family, play in the garden or go on a bike ride.

  • Dance ‘n Beats has a wide selection of fun dance routines to enjoy.
  • Just Dance has a more challenging selection of videos and dances to learn.
  • Cosmic Kids Yoga has a fun range of videos to guide you through yoga sessions.
  • Jump Start Jonny has some fab free high-energy workouts on his website, plus a few on YouTube too.
  • Joe Wicks has an amazing range of PE lessons, for you to join in with EVERYDAY!
  • Oti Mabuse has uploaded lots of fun dance lessons onto her Youtube channel.

Practical tip: Make sure you warm up and warm down before and after each workout session. Walking on the spot, arm swings or circles, jumping jacks, side hops and lunges are all good options.

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend.

Love from Miss North laugh
