Friday 17th July

Good morning! Today is your final day in Year 5! What a bizarre year this has been. None of us could have imagined, when you started Year 5 back in September, that the school year would have ended up like this.

Maths

Today you are learning to round numbers upto 1,000,000.

Mrs Walker's group A

We are going back to telling the time today.  Watch this video and draw the hands on the clock to show the correct times.  Then add the prices of the fruit on worksheet 2.

Mrs Walker's group B

Use <, > or = to compare the values of the items in each group.

Guided Reading

Your final Guided Reading text of Year 5 is about William Shalespeare. You have a comprehension task at the end of the text.

Mrs Walker's A and B groups

Read the information about the Queen's birthdays and answer the questions.

English

Today's English lesson will teach you all about how William Shakespeare's stories have been reimagined.

Circle the verb in each of the sentences and then change the verbs to make them more exciting.

And as usual, spend your Friday afternoon curled up reading something that captures your interest. It might be a good book, a magazine or a newspaper.

That's it. Year 5 done and dusted. Have a super Summer, stay safe, and we will see you all again in September.
