Friday 19th June

Good morning

We have made it to the end of another week of home learning. I know some of you are starting to struggle to keep motivated, but it is important you keep trying so you keep up with the other children for when you come back to school. So please keep working as hard as you would if you were in school. Plus it makes it easier for your mum and dad!

Maths.

It's Friday so Maths Challenge Day.

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-5/

Those of you that haven't tried the challenge sheet this week, it is attached again. Some of you might want to look at the year 6 and attempt some of that, don't forget BBC Bitesize has lessons on all of these Math's objectives.

Mrs Walker's group A

Today you are going to learn how to tell the time in five minute intervals.  Click here to watch a video and then complete the worksheet.

Mrs Walker's group B

Today there are two worksheets for you to complete.  Don't forget to check your work when you have finished.

Guided Reading.

Today's guided reading is a type on one (I hope) so you won't need to print it. It is about Father's Day, and has a selection of different types of poems. If you are feeling creative once you have answered the questions you could have a go at writing one of your own.

Mrs Walker's A and B groups

Read the information about Amazonian Tribes and answer the questions.

English.

BBC Bitesize lesson today on speech, really concentrate on the punctuation.

Mrs Walker's A and B groups

Today you are going to write the final part of your letter, the conclusion.  In this section you want to sum up what you have already written (that it is important to save the animals) and what you want the loggers to do (stop cutting down the trees in the rainforest).  Have a look at the last paragraph of the example.

READ, READ, READ!

A lovely relaxing afternoons reading. Don't forget you can access online books and audio books. Or just pick up a book at home and have a good read.

Have a fantastic weekend! Don't forget to do something special for your dads, uncles and grandads Fathers Day.

I will see some of you Monday and the rest of you I will have some new work for you on Monday.
