Good morning 4A!

Today is the last day of our first half term!! I can't quite believe it! I am sure you are all ready for the half term holidays - I hope you manage to have a relaxing but fun break. I am super gutted as I was supposed to be flying out to Turkey tomorrow but my holiday has been cancelled. I was supposed to be going to Bali in the Easter holiday but that was also cancelled so I haven't had very much luck with holidays. Hopefully, next year I can jet off to somewhere with lots of sun!!!

There will be no home learning set over October half and no homework. New spellings were given on Wednesday (please see the Wednesday folder for this) so the test will be on Wednesday 4th November. We will be back to school on Tuesday as Monday 2nd November is inset day - the rest of the week will be topic week. I have been busy planning and preparing lots of activities for this week.

Have a fantastic half term,

Best wishes,

Miss Anwar x

I would like you to have a go at this arithmetic paper. We did one in school together and went through how to calculate some of the questions, like adding fractions and decimals. The answers are at the back so you can mark your answers. You don't need to print it out, you can do your working out and write the answers on some paper.

Today's lesson will be the last reading lesson on the text, Hidden Depths. Follow the link, watch the video and pause it in the right places to have a go at the questions. You will also have an opportunity to create your own imaginary deep sea fish.

Follow the link to this lesson to develop your understanding of determiners and pronouns. This is really important because, from marking your writing, some of us are mixing up the use of "a" and "an". Pronouns help us to avoid repetition in our writing, so it is vital that you have a good understanding of them.

Afternoon Activities

I would like you to spend at least 30 minutes on TT Rockstars. Some of you have told me that you don't feel confident with recalling your times tables, so we need to keep practicing them. We will be doing a times table test at the end of year so we need to know them really well.

I did some cartoon art with a class I was covering the other day and they absolutely loved it. Have a go at this step by step tutorial of how to draw a Viking - can you guess what our next topic will be????

I would love to see photos of your finished work so your grown-ups can email them to me -
