Friday 22nd May 2020

Good morning 2S,

Today is Friday! We just have today’s learning to do, and then you will have a whole week to relax (although don't forget to fill in your weather diary!)

Well done for all your amazing work this half-term - I am so proud of you! You are all SUPERSTARS - and your parents are too!

Don’t forget you can still e-mail me next week because I love to see what is keeping you busy. Here is my email again:

Here is the link if you would like to start your day with Joe Wicks PE:

I'm planning on keeping going over the holidays as well, as I haven't  missed a day in 9 weeks. I'm feeling proud of myself for this!

Here are your activities to complete today:

You've had such a busy week learning all of the plural spelling rules, haven't you?

Today, there's another game to play on Phonics Play called 'Pond Life Plurals', a board game and a sorting task.

This is what you're looking for:

Plurals Board Game

Plurals Sorting Task - write in the singular and plural of the nouns shown in each picture, then cut them out and stick them in the correct place on the chart.

You should be half way through producing the neat copy of your report.  I hope you're using your most beautiful writing, making sure that there are clear spaces between your words and that all of your writing is sitting on the lines with the descenders (tails) hanging down. Remember to check that your tall letters are tall enough, too.

I would absolutely LOVE to see your report. Email me a photograph of it if you possibly can.

Here's the link to today's Flashback:

With all of the practice that you have had over the last two weeks on addition, subtraction and your times tables (including the division facts), you're sure to do so well on this week's Mental Arithmetic Test.

First, here's a quick link to the 2S Maths folder where you'll find all of our Olympic Times Tables Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

You can practice any of them, remembering that you're aiming to complete a strip in approximately one minute.

I really can't wait to see how amazing you are with your times tables when we get back to school.

Just before you do the Mental Arithmetic Test, here's today's Problem of the Day:

Here's the Mental Arithmetic test. Just write your answers in a list and you can check them at the end as you'll find them on page 8.

Many of you will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr this weekend. Unfortunately, your Eid al-Fitr celebrations will probably not be as wonderful as they usually are, but I hope that you have the best possible time.

I thought it would be lovely to have today's reading task is linked to how people celebrate Eid al-Fitr so here it is:

Learning For Life

Last week you thought about the special people in your life. Today, we are going to think more about why they are so special. Have a look through this PowerPoint and complete the activities.

I hope you have had a fantastic day!

Enjoy your half-term and remember to keep in touch!

I'll be back with your home-learning tasks on Monday 1st June.

Love from
