Good morning 1S!
How are you? Today is Friday! We just have today’s learning to do, then you will have a whole week to relax (although don't forget to fill in your weather diary!)
Well done for all your amazing work this term, I am super proud of you! You are all SUPERSTARS! - and your parents are too!
Don’t forget you can still email me next week, I love to see what is keeping you busy. Here is my email again: email@example.com
Here is the link if you would like to start your day with Joe Wicks PE:
Here are some activities to complete today:
Phase 5 Alternative Spellings /ear/. You will need to log in to access this game. https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/
Then scroll down to ‘Phase 5c Interactive Resources - Weeks 8-30’ and find ‘Alternative Spellings /ear/’.
In ‘Phoneme Spotter’ you need to see how many different graphemes you can find for the /ear/ phoneme- you could list the words. In ‘Word Sort’ you need to read the word, then sort it to the grapheme used.
Remember, you need to be able to apply these different spellings in different words.
Please continue to practise your ‘18.05.20 Spellings’ for our test after half-term.
Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the ‘Maths’ Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 7 Day 5 today. Did you get 4/4 correct?
Warm up: Find some 3D shapes around your house and list them. Can you find a sphere, cylinder, cone, cuboid or cube?
Friday is challenge day!
Access the Home Learning on White Rose Maths.
1) Click on https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/
2) Click ‘Summer Term - Week 5 (w/c 18th May) Friday Maths Challenge
3) Click 'Get the challenges'. If you can't print this off, could you write your answers down on a piece of paper?
4) Click 'Get the answers'. Can somebody mark this for you?
Here is a problem to finish with:
Did you make a neat copy of your first page yesterday? Now it’s time to complete your report and copy out your second page.
Have you checked your spellings? Have you made sure that your reader can breathe by using the correct punctuation?
Remember to use your most beautiful writing, making sure that there are clear spaces between your words and that all of your writing is sitting on the lines with the descenders (tails) hanging down. Check that your tall letters are tall enough, too.
Your report is now complete! I would absolutely LOVE to see your report. Email me a photograph of it if you possibly can.
I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now!
Many of you will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr this weekend. Unfortunately, your Eid al-Fitr celebrations will probably not be as wonderful as they usually are, but I hope that you have the best possible time.
I thought it would be lovely to have today's reading task is linked to how people celebrate Eid al-Fitr so here it is:
Learning For Life
Last week you thought about the special people in your life. Today, we are going to think more about why they are so special. Have a look through this PowerPoint and complete the activities.
Have a fantastic day!
Enjoy your half-term and remember to keep in touch! It would be lovely to receive some emails and photos of your Eid celebrations or half-term activities. Remember, be good for your parents!
I'll be back with your home-learning tasks on Monday 1st June.
