Friday 27th March 2020

It’s Friday!

I don’t want to start this message with a moan, but we still have only had 3 children login and take an Accelerated Quiz! sad For those children, let’s try and get higher scores when you do another test.

Mrs Stansfield sent across the scores for this week, and there are some classes who have done a lot more than us. I have been logging in every day to see who’s logged on too – I’ll be keeping an eye on you…

Let’s do more 3N!

It's the end of our first week of working from home, and it’s been a strange one. I still haven’t gotten used to the fact that I can’t see all your lovely faces everyday! The weather has been so amazing and has put me in a really good mood though and I hope you're enjoying it too. I think my cat, George, is enjoying it! laugh

Yesterday I spent most of my day planning activities for when you all come back to school, as well as building some furniture in the garden. It took a long time as I didn’t read the instructions properly, silly Miss North! I can’t wait to see you all again so that you can tell me all the things that you’ve been up to!

EXCITING NEWS!

Today we are holding a KS2 girls vs boys TT Rockstars battle of the bands. It will start at 9 am and finish at 3pm, the winner is the Band with the most correct answers. Teachers are included, so let’s see who is going to win! I’ll definitely be joining in! Every class in year 3 to year 6 will be joining in. We are the youngest, but let’s show them we are the best!

Who will win, boys or girls?

PE

As always, remember to wake your body up with Joe Wick’s PE lesson. This is 30 minutes and can be found at The Body Coach on YouTube. I’ve seen lots and lots of children joining in online, it’s great fun!

Oti Mabuse is still running her dance classes on Facebook. I must admit, I wasn’t very good at this, but I’m going to keep trying!

NEWS JUST IN! Max Whitlock, a gold medal gymnast, is going to be doing a LIVE gymnastics session at 3.30pm on Tuesday’s and Friday’s, starting next week. I know we’ve got some amazing gymnasts in our class so get practicing!

Maths

Today, I would like you to do the final lesson of this week’s fractions teaching on the White Rose Maths website. This lesson is called Tenths as decimals and uses what you learnt this week, so if you haven’t done the other lessons yet, make sure you do those first. This is a new concept but uses things that we have looked at already (think back to when I was showing some decimals when we were measuring).

This is the only maths activity I would like you to do today, as I would like you to spend as much time on TT Rockstars as possible!

SPaG

In SPaG today, I would like for you to practice your spellings. Remember yesterday when I mentioned that I would still be setting them for you to complete, well, they are linked below called Week 4. I would like you to practise them this weekend and we will do the test together at the beginning of next week.

Reading

Spend at least a part of your day reading your book - maybe this afternoon, or before bed. Remember, when you finish a book, you should complete an Accelerated Reader test - your log in details are on the letter we gave in your packs.

I would also like you to logon to Classroom Secrets Kids and complete the Year 3 Easter Reading Comprehension Easter Festival.

You need to login, click Year 3, Reading, and then scroll down to find it.

AFTERNOON- Topic

This afternoon, I would like you to do another activity from your topic grid. The 'invent your own Greek God/Goddess' sounds fun! I think I might even join in and create my own. To find out click the link below to see the topic grid.

Remember, you can still do some computing, to complete your game. They’re looking good!

I hope that you have an amazing weekend, whatever you’re doing, and we’ll speak again on Monday!

Like always; Stay safe, keep smiling and I’ll see you soon!
