Friday 3rd April 2020

Good Morning Class 1/2A smiley

I hope you are all well and it’s Friday and end of another school week. It was lovely speaking to some of you on the phone yesterday and it was so good to hear your voice!!

Thank you to the children who have been sharing some amazing Maths and English work this week. Please continue to share your fab work as it brings a big smile on my face and makes me feel so proud of you all!!

You have two weeks Easter Holidays and we shall continue with our daily learning from Monday 20th April. Remember to have a good rest and enjoy your holidays by doing fun things at home with the adults.

Remember that Joe Wicks is doing a live PE lesson at 9am everyday! (He is continuing to do this throughout the Easter holidays. I am going to continue to do it each morning and I hope you will too!) Did you dress up in fancy dress for today's workout? If you miss this at 9am, it is saved on his Youtube channel so don't worry! Here is the link again:

Here are some activities to complete today:

Phonics

Can you help phonics frog make it home? Tap the screen or click the mouse to jump across the road without getting hit by traffic. Cross the river by jumping onto lily pads, alligators and floating logs. Alligator tails are safe, but not their mouths.

Read the writing on the side of the logs. Be careful. If the word on the log is real the log is safe, but if the word is not real you will fall into the river.

Practise Tricky Trucks Game: Sound out the tricky words that appear on each of the trucks. How many tricky words can you say correctly?

Writing

Please work with a parent to check the first part of the diary entry that you wrote yesterday. Make any edits that you need to do. Check for:

  • Capital letters for names;
  • Capital letters and full stops for each sentence;
  • Question marks;
  • Any other punctuation, such as exclamation marks or commas for a list;
  • Spelling mistakes - use Google to check.
  • Correct use of tenses.

Before you write the next part of your diary entry, look again at the features. Have you included them all?

Write your next diary entry:

Friday 3rd April

This morning when I woke up I got ready to do my exercise with Joe wicks workout and I struggled to keep up with him today! Then I had a shower and ate my breakfast. Next I had to check my emails and reply back to some parents who had emailed me some of their children’s wonderful Maths and English work. I was so excited and proud of all the children’s hard work. Then I had to make some phone calls to some parents and make sure they are all keeping well and safe. It was such fun because I managed to speak to some children. It was so good to hear their voices. I really miss all the children in class 1/2A and I can’t wait to see you all again. After that I had a break and FaceTime my friend and it was so good to see her as we can’t meet up. Finally it was time to make some lunch and I made Mexican bean salad with tuna and it was delicious. What did you have for your lunch?

By for now and see you all soon.

Mrs Ahmad!

When you have finished, please work with a parent to check the second part of your diary entry. Make any edits that you need to do. Check for:

  • Capital letters for names;
  • Capital letters and full stops for each sentence;
  • Question marks;
  • Any other punctuation, such as exclamation marks or commas for a list;
  • Spelling mistakes - use Google to check.
  • Correct use of tenses.

I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now!

Males and females- What are the differences between males and females?

Did you know?- Can you find 2 or more interesting facts about your chosen big cat?

Write in full sentences, remembering every capital letter, finger space and full stop.
