What do school Governors do?
Governors work as a team called the Governng Body, in our school there are 12 Governors who volunteer their time, work together with the Headteacher and staff to ensure that all children at Fixby Junior & Infant School get a good education. The Governors help plan the school's future, help set our aims and policies to ensure that we achieve better. It is their job to identify problems and tackle them in advance.
Our Governing Body is made up of parents, staff, local community and local authority members. Governors are appointed for 4 years but they can be re-appointed.
