Good Morning Class 1-2A and Parents
I hope you are well and had a lovely bank holiday weekend. Did you manage to enjoy the sunshine? I had a busy weekend catching up with my family and friends. It was my niece's 18th birthday on Friday and my sister in law's birthday as well.
Did some of you plan some special celebrations for VE Day? Can you please share some pictures of your family celebrating - thank you.
Thank you to all the parents who have been replying back to my emails and sending me lots of pictures and videos of your work. I am so overwhelmed with everyone's responses. I have been calling some parents and it was lovely to talk to some children on the phone.
Have another chance at practicing your spellings and good luck with your test!
Spellings for this week are saved in the spelling folder.

In today’s Math’s lesson we are going to recap O’clock and learn half past times.
Children will recap the relevance of the hour and minute hand and understand why the distinction between the two is important. Children should be given the opportunity to use clocks with movable hands to show times. They will be able to explore that the hour hand moves as the minute hand does. From this they will see that half past will show hour hand half way between the two hours. In this lesson children will read times from given clocks.
Ask questions such as:
What does each number represent on the clock?
What does the small hand represent?
What does the big hand represent?
Does the hour hand move when the minute hand does?
What do you notice about the hour hand for half past __?
What time is being displayed on the clock?
Show me __ o’clock
Show me half past __.
