Monday 12th October
Last week for RE we looked at harvest around the world.
Today we are thinking about the word
What does this word mean?
We can be thankful for many different things.
The food we eat, having a warm and safe place to live, having friends and family to love and care for us.
Do you know which country Thanksgiving is celebrated in?
Watch the powerpoint below which tells you all about the first Thanksgiving.
I want you to think about all the things that you are thankful for today.
We are then going to write a poem about what we are thankful for. I have written my own poem below to give you some ideas.
I am thankful for having a family who love me.
I am thankful for having healthy food to keep me strong.
I am thankful for my cosy warm bed.
I am thankful for the opportunity to learn.
I am thankful for being me.
Now it is your turn. Using the sheet attached below write your own poem to explain what you are thankful for.
I have also added a new Starters for STEM activity sheet below. It has lots of great ideas for science and technology experiments and enquiries you can do at home.
Choose the ones you like the look of and have a go this week.
I would love to see some photographs of your experiments.
Times Table Songs
I have added the link to the Supermovers timestable songs so that you can keep practising. See the link below.
I have also added the video for You got a Friend in Me with the Makaton for you to practise.
We will do this together on Friday in class. I can't wait. Keep practising this song over the week.
