Monday 1st June 2020

Happy Monday! How is it June already?

I hope you have all had a super Spring Bank week off with your families. The weather has been amazing! It has been so lovely to spend lot's of time outdoors. I spent some time re-decorating part of the upstairs in my house and we had 2 BBQ's, enjoying lot's of great food and family time. I am missing you all SO much and cannot wait to hear from you.

The teachers are back in school today, as some of the Year 6 children are back. Over the next few weeks, there will be other children coming into school too. We don't know about our year group yet, but don't worry as we will continue to post work online every day. As soon as we find out anything, we will let your grownups know.

Remember to keep sending in pictures and emails telling me what you have been up to as I can't speak to you face to face at the moment. I would love to know how you spent your half term!

Here is today's work. Scroll down to see your daily afternoon work. Make sure that you click your groups folder to do the correct work.
If you work with Miss Johnson, please use the work from the folder below:

I have added some images from Alice in Wonderland and I want you to choose an image and write a setting description, describing what is in the image.

Imagine that you are there:

  • Use your senses. Think about what you can see, hear, smell and touch.
  • Can you include some similes or metaphors?

Healthy Eating

I would like you to complete the food pyramid activity. Thinking about the foods that are in each category. I have also added a food diary that you can you to record the food you eat over a week.

The final task is to plan a healthy menu for yourself and your family. Think about the food you like and how you can create a balanced meal.

As a final activity idea, I have attached a STEM activity grid. These activities support your understanding of science, technology, engineering and maths, but in fun ways!

The picture is a little bit blurry, but have a go at one of the activities...

Enjoy the sunshine, and we'll speak tomorrow.

Love from Miss North and Mrs Buttery
