Good morning 4A,
I hope you have had an amazing half term break and made the most of the sunshine. I had a great week off, starting with Eid. I hope you had a lovely Eid celebration for those of you who celebrate it.
As I am sure you have heard by now, school has re-opened in phases so all staff are back in school. We will be in "bubbles" to maintain social distancing and I am lucky to be in our classroom. We've been given plenty to do so I am hoping to be very productive. After school, I hope to enjoy the sunshine (if it's still here!) and go on a long walk. We did a 20 km walk and it has been good to make the most of the weather.
School work is back up now as usual and this is the last half term before the Summer holidays. Let's make it a great one!

Today's lesson is based on adding fractions. We did this before school closed so it will be nice revision work for you
Here is an extract from Alice in Wonderland. Read the extract a couple of times then answer the questions. Try to look for key words and use a ruler to keep you on track of where you reading. The answers will be uploaded for you tomorrow.
Alice in Wonderland
In line with the Alice in Wonderland theme, I have attached some images from Alice in Wonderland - your task is to choose an image and write a setting description based on it.
You can use:
- the five senses. Imagine you are there: what can you see, hear, feel, taste and smell?
- Similies and metaphors. Remember to write for greater impact. Avoid similes like "as fast as a race car".
- Personification - giving objects or the environment human characteristics e.g. the wind whistled as it caressed her skin. Whistled and caressed would be the personification in this sentence.
- Onomatopoeia - a word that suggests the sound it describes e.g. bang, crash, thud, splash, swish.
Try and put your writing task into paragraphs. It might be a good idea to focus on one paragraph for each sense. Don't feel like you have to write five paragraphs on every sense as it may get repetitive.
The other 3/4 classes are doing a healthy eating activity today. I thought that we can do something similar but switch it up. Have a go at this activity:
