Monday 23rd March 2020
Here are some activities to complete today:
Have your spelling test at home. Use the spelling sheet that is labelled 'Test Date Monday 23rd March 2020' in your paper pack. Maybe an older sibling could test you? Once you have done this, could you practise your letter formation? Have a look at next week's spellings, these are saved in the 'Spellings' folder.
Using this sound mat, ask somebody to shout out these sounds. Can you write each sound down as quick as you can and hold it up? Can you think of some words with these sounds in and make a list?
Every day Joe Wicks will be doing a PE video for children. On his Youtube channel, there are lots of work outs for everyone to do at home. I am going to be doing this each day too!
Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ
Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the Maths Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt!
Warm up: Can you count in 2s up to 50? Can you do this to 100?
Access the Home Learning Lesson 1 Weight & Mass on White Rose Maths.
1) Click on https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/
2) Click on 'Year 1'
3) Click to play the video 'Lesson 1 - Introduce Weight & Mass'
4) Click 'Get the activity'. If you can't print this off, could you write your answers down on a piece of paper?
5) Click 'Get the answers'. Can somebody mark this for you?
6) Can you find some objects around the house and compare them? Can you order them from lightest to heaviest? Can you order them from heaviest to lightest? Use the vocabulary; heavy, heavier, heaviest, light, lighter, lightest.
Here is a problem to finish with:
Time for a break! Try out an activity from 'Kids Workouts To Do At Home'
Using the paper pack sent home, read the first part of the text from the story 'The Lion And The Mouse'. We have looked at this text in class, can you now have a go at this more independently and answer the questions?
You could also read some of your home Reading book too!
I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now; remember to eat lots of fruit and veg!
Mrs Buttery would like you to do an R.E. task linked to Easter this afternoon. Last week you talked about the Last Supper and how bread and wine are shared in churches.
Candles are very important to Christians at Easter time. Read through this Powerpoint to find out why and then design or make your own Paschal candle.
Time for a bit of uplifting singing to remind yourself how awesome you are:
We love this song at school. Teach this song to your family as everyone needs to feel great right now!
Have a lovely day!
