Monday 27th April 2020

Good morning 5/6AA.  I hope you've all had a great weekend.  It's now week 4 and you have all been coping with situation amazingly.  Did you enjoy making a time capsule on Friday?  Ava and I did one too.  It will be interesting to open it in years to come and remember what it was like to live through this time. Now, here are your tasks for today:

Maths

Go to www.whiterosemaths.com - home learning - year 5 - summer term week 2 - lesson 1 (adding decimals with the same number of decimal places).  Watch the video first and then complete the worksheet by clicking on get the activity.  Finally, when you have finished you can check your answers.  Don't forget that there are lots of arithmetic tests in the maths folder that you can do as well.

Reading

Click here to get an online copy of Private Peaceful.  Read the first chapter (five past ten) and then answer the questions. The answers are at the end of the question sheet so you can check your work when you have finished.

Writing

Today we will focus on the use of commas.  Watch this video first.  Then complete the worksheet below.  When you have done that, have a go at this punctuation game.

Mrs Walker's group B

Mrs Walker's A and B groups

Reading

Read the Healthy Eating Meal Plan and answer the questions at the end.  The answers are on the last page so you can check your work but DON'T CHEAT and look at the answers first.

Writing

Change the adjectives into adverbs on the file below.  An adjective is a word that describes a noun (the name of a place or thing) and an adverb tells you how something happens.  When you have finished the worksheet, try this game.

Whole class

Afternoon work.

If we were at school today, we would have PE.  So, I would like you to have a go at this PE lesson.  The only equipment you need is some paper (5 sheets to be exact).

Then have a go at this word search and answer the extension questions at the end.
