We hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend break. Did you all manage to do something nice over the weekend? We have been busy planning another exciting week with lots of fantastic activities. Spelling Test:

We hope you have practiced your spellings from last week. Don’t worry you can all have another practice before we do our test. GOOD LUCK!!

 

 

This week in spelling we are learning to spell compound words. They are formed when two or more words are joined together to create a new word that has an entirely new meaning.

For example, “sun” and “flower” are two different words, but when fused together, they form another word: sunflower.  

Consider the words “wind" and "mill” and “windmill”.

Activity 1: Compound nouns are formed from two or more other nouns. For example, paper + work = paperwork. Draw a line to match two nouns that make a compound noun.

This week we’re going to read a new story called “The Cautious Caterpillar.” We hope you enjoy finding out about this story.

 

Here is your task for today.

 

 

RE:

So far, we have found out that Jesus taught his followers using stories called parables and through sermons. How else do you think Jesus could have taught his followers? 

Jesus didn’t just tell people how they should behave, but he showed them too. During his life, Jesus amazed people by the way he treated others and through the miracles he performed.

 

Read the story of Jesus washing his disciples feet together. Explain that Jesus saw doing things for other people as something that was very important and that he saw

himself as a servant. When was the last time you did something kind for someone else?

 

Task:

Complete the sentences, ‘Jesus helped people by...’ and then draw a picture for each one.

 

 

Extension Activity:

You can paint a picture of Jesus to show what he taught people throughout his life. This could be done as a picture of Jesus with words around him, as a scene from Jesus’ life, or in any form that you wish.

What ideas about Jesus do we get from these paintings?
