Good Morning Children and Your Parents. laugh

We hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend break. Did you all manage to do something nice over the weekend? We have been busy planning another exciting week with lots of fantastic activities. We hope you enjoy them and have a good start to the week. Remind your parents to share your report comments with us. We would love to hear from them! All you have to do is email us.

Here are today’s activities:

Let's get started with today's tasks, starting with a Joe Wicks workout: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

Spelling Test:

We hope you have practiced your spellings from last week. Don’t worry you can all have another practice before we do our test. GOOD LUCK!!

This week's spelling rule is the suffixes -tion and -sion which are quite common. If the suffix is pronounced "ZHun," it will be spelled -sion. However, this ending can also be pronounced "SHun."If the last letter before the noun suffix is ln, or r, the word will take -sion. There are a few exceptions when these words will take -tion. After letters other than ln, or r, the -tion suffix is used. It is always pronounced "SHun."

Today’s phonics story is about “The Animal Rescue Centre.” We are learning to read words containing -tion.

Activity 1-  Mel is writing a new information leaflet for the rescue centre but she is getting a bit stuck. Can you help her by choosing the correct words to complete the sentences?

Activity 2 - Challenge Can you design your own information leaflet for the rescue centre?

Activity 3 – Complete the word search and find all the words with the -tion suffix.

Lunch time:  You must all be ready for lunch by now.

Guided Reading:

This week in guided reading we are going to read a SATs practice paper.

Read the text carefully and fluently then answer the questions.

Here are the answers to the questions:

What does expensive mean? It costs a lot of money

What does popular mean? Lots of people like it.

What equipment is used in lots of board games like Monopoly and Ludo?

Counters and dice

If a game is only played in certain countries, it is not played everywhere in the world.

RE:

So far, we have found out that Jesus taught his followers using stories called parables and through sermons. How else do you think Jesus could have taught his followers?

Jesus didn’t just tell people how they should behave, but he showed them too. During his life, Jesus amazed people by the way he treated others and through the miracles he performed.

Read the story of Jesus washing his disciples feet together.  Jesus saw doing things for other people as something that was very important and he saw himself as a servant. When was the last time you did something kind for someone else?

Tasks:

Extension Activity:

Paint a picture of Jesus to show what he taught people throughout his life. This could be done as a picture of Jesus with words around him, as a scene from Jesus’ life, or in any form you wish.

What ideas about Jesus do we get from these paintings?

Music:

In Music this week are going we are going to learn one new song and do one of our favourites.

Story Time:

It’s always good to finish the day off with a story. Make sure you are sitting nice and comfortably.

Be Kind | A Children's Story about things that matter

What exactly is kindness? What is it to be kind? Is it being helpful? Being polite? Does it have to be a big act to be more kind? Well maybe the smallest act...

We hope you all have a fab day and a great start to the week. Thank you for all your hard work today.

Bye for now and see you all tomorrow.

Love from

Mrs Stansfield and Mrs Ahmad laugh
