Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of all the staff, governors and pupils of Fixby Junior and Infant School, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your family. Fixby Junior and Infant School opened in 1977 and educates pupils between the ages of 5 and 11. We are a community school with over 300 pupils on roll. At Fixby, all staff are strongly committed to providing a happy, safe and supportive environment which we believe to be fundamental to the achievement of high standards of teaching and learning.

We recognise the important role of parents and carers in the learning process, and you can be assured that we work closely with families in many different ways to enable children to grow and develop as independent learners, fully prepared and equipped for meeting the challenges life brings.

Fixby Junior and Infant School has high expectations and its ethos both encourages and promotes an environment where children can be themselves, enjoy their learning and achieve their very best. Nurturing a life-long love of learning in all our pupils is our key priority for the school. With your support, we encourage pupils to be hard-working, kind, thoughtful and confident individuals capable of learning and celebrating their successes within our whole school family.

We hope you find our website both informative and supportive.

Claire Allen, Headteacher
