Good Morning Children and Your Parents
How are you all this morning? We hope you are all keeping well. The weather is supposed to get warmer so hopefully we can enjoy the sunshine by the weekend. How did you get on with your art work yesterday? Which famous Huddersfield landmark did you choose? Which season did you base your creation on? We would love you to share some of your amazing art work with us via email.

Tomorrow we are going to be learning to write summer haiku poems. Haikus are a traditional Japanese art form.
To be able to write a haiku, you need to understand what syllables are and be able to count how many syllables there are in a word.

In this video Chris the Word Whiz teaches you tips for reading words by spotting how many syllables they have. He will remind you about vowels and consonants too.

We are going to continue with our weather topic work. Today we are going to identify ways in which we learn about the weather, then learn about how weather forecasts are helpful.
Can you remember some differences between weather in coastal areas and inland areas from your work on Tuesday?

Depending on where you are in the United Kingdom, you might need to dress differently, or do different things because of the weather that day!
How do we know what to wear, or what sorts of jobs and activities we can do each day? How do we know in advance what the weather will probably be like in our local area?
How do you think weather forecasters are able to predict what the weather will be like?
We can forecast the weather, too!
Can you predict what the weather might be like tomorrow? What's the weather at this time of year? What's the weather like today?
Your task is to follow instructions to draw weather symbols on a map of the United Kingdom, according to the given weather report. You should know the countries of the UK and use the compass to help you with North, South, East and West.
Can you write the countries of the UK, spelling them correctly and starting each one with a capital letter?
Can you locate them on this blank map of the UK?
Create your own weather forecast for tomorrow’s weather. Use the weather symbols to show the weather on the map. Then write your own weather forecast using the writing template. Maybe you could even video yourself being a weather forecaster.
