Good Morning Children and Your Parents laugh


How are you all this morning? We hope you are all keeping well. How did you get on with your art work yesterday? Did you manage to collect some leaves? We would love you to share your art work and your acrostic poems.

Phonics: Today’s phonics story is called ‘The To Do List’, and we are learning to spell words containing gn. We are also learning how to put words into alphabetical order.



Activity 1 – Can you help the Gnome to put the words into alphabetical order?


Activity 2:  You will need to use a dictionary - this can be a book or an online dictionary -  to check the spellings of these words that have been spelt incorrectly.

Mental and Oral Starter Activity:

Today we are going to use Karate Cat Maths for our starter activity.

Click on multiplication/division facts and start with the Bronze, Silver and then Gold.

You should now be really great at identifying verbs and adjectives. Making great choices for these is really important when writing poems. Today’s poem uses both of these as well as similes.

Does your poem need any editing to improve it?

Can you add any alliteration?

Now that it’s finished, copy it our really neatly, remembering to start the new lines at the correct time.

(Your poem should have a title and then nine lines, split into 3 groups of 3.)

Imagine you are going on holiday to The Philippines. What will you pack to make sure you’re prepared for the weather? Draw and label what you will pack.


Extension Activity 2:

Sort the weather seasons into two groups. TRUE and FALSE.
