Thursday 21st May 2020
Good morning 4A,
I hope you had a good day yesterday and made the most of the beautiful sunshine. I have been planning lots of maths activities for us to do. I hope we get to spend some time together before the academic year is over. Eid is in a couple of days and Fridays are a special day for Muslims as we have a special prayer. I will upload Friday's work a bit early in case some of you who are celebrating are wanting to take a few days off to enjoy the festivities.
I would like to use this opportunity to wish you Eid Mubarak, to those of you who celebrate. Have a great day with your families (socially distanced, of course!) and eat lots of yummy food. I'd love to know how you spend your Eid so please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
It is also half term next week so work will be uploaded the week after. Have a rest and have some fun! Hopefully, we will have some nice weather.
Take care x
Today's lesson will be lesson 4 fractions greater than 1.
Year 4 Maths Sheets
Did you do your weekly spelling test yesterday? If not, try to do it today. Here are next week's spellings. The test will be on Wednesday 3rd June 2020 as next week is half term.
Attached below is an inference activity that leads into a really nice writing activity. I have enjoyed reading your work on "The Secret Garden" and I'm sure you will do some more great writing.
As I'm sure you're aware by now, Captain Tom Moore is going to receive knighthood due to his amazing charitable contribution to the NHS. Here is a reading comprehension based on a news article about it for you to complete. The answers have been included too.
Here is a task sheet based around Tom Moore's achievement. You choose one of the tasks or you can do all three. If you would like to do something different, perhaps you can make a powerpoint about a famous person who has received honours from the Royal Family e.g. David Beckham was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003.
