Good morning to the best class in the world!
The weather has been so beautiful outside!
Yesterday I spent time doing my own online learning for school, sat out in my garden. I was also planning lots of maths activities to use when we all get back to school.
In the evening I spent some family time watching Moana and eating ice-cream as a little treat.
As mentioned on the previous page, our school is joining in with the #afterastormcomesarainbow campaign. I look forward to seeing photos of your creative rainbows in your windows in the comments on our Facebook page.
Our first job every morning is to wake your body up with Joe Wick’s PE lesson. This is 30 minutes and I love it!
I also hope some of you had a go at the Oti Mabuse dance classes on Facebook. I missed it yesterday but will DEFINITELY be having a go today.
Like yesterday, I would like you to be in charge of your learning so we're going to use our Abacus workbooks. You need to find an area of maths that you've found a bit tricky either this year, or in the past, and complete 2 pages of work on it. This should be done in your exercise book. Get someone to check it if you need to.
You will also need to look back on the White Rose Maths website to see lesson 4 of your fractions learning. This lesson is called Counting in tenths and uses what you learnt yesterday, so if you haven’t done lesson 3 yet, make sure you do that first.
I hope that you’re understanding the activities that you’re learning. Remember, you can always do some extra research to help you, or ask an older brother or sister to help you if you can.
I would also like for you to spend about 30 minutes on Times Table Rockstars. Hopefully by the end of next week, I can arrange a time during the day where you guys can compete against each other and myself. Hopefully I can get Mrs Norris, Miss Johnson and Mrs Buttery to join in too!
In SPaG today, I would like you to complete another of your worksheets in your home learning pack. This activity is about prefixes and includes anti-, super-, auto-, re-, sub- and inter-.
There is also a 'spelling test' on Classroom Secrets Kids, called Year 3 and 4 Spelling Activity 1. You need to listen carefully to spell the missing word, so go somewhere more quiet in your house.
I will upload this weeks spellings tomorrow for you to learn. We will do the spelling test at the start of next week so make sure that you’re learning them. Ask a sibling or grownup to test you.
Like I mentioned yesterday, make sure that you’re reading as much as possible! So far, only 3 children have completed an Accelerated Reader quiz – 1 of you has even completed 5! WOW! I’m impressed!
You can read your books on your own, to an adult or brother and sister, or even your teddy. It’s up to you!
I would like you to complete one of your reading comprehensions that we sent home in your pack. The text about dogs looks interesting!
Remember David Walliams will be uploading FREE audios of his stories everyday at 11am. We’ve read some of his stories in class, and had a giggle about them.
This afternoon, I would like you to do a fun activity with your family. This could be one of your reading, science or topic activities, or you could do something from the list below. Either way, do it spending some time with your loved ones.
Remember, you have your computing task to do. Click this link to go straight to that page to find out the steps for continuing to make your toy. I hear from Mrs Buttery that these are looking good!
Speak to you tomorrow my lovelies!
Like always; Stay safe, keep smiling and I’ll see you soon!
