Thursday 2nd April
Home Spinner Challenge
I hope you are all well today and have been working hard this week.
As always, I am writing this on Wednesday evening and I have had another busy day. I finally completed all the spellings for this year and next year today!! It felt very odd writing dates for 2021, however I feel super proud of myself now that job is complete. I have also been doing some training on planning and teaching reading and I can't wait to get back in the classroom to try it out. I have lots of exciting ideas.
This afternoon Jacob, Harry and I recorded our Corona Rap. I have posted it on the Fixby Facebook page. Please have a look if you haven't seen it all ready. I have also received one video of a rap and it was superb. I would love to see more, please have a go and then send your videos to me.
One eagle eyed Year 3 has also spotted an error on one of the answers on the non fiction reading comprehension that I set yesterday. The answer to question 1 is that William Kidd was born first. Thanks for noticing this. Even adults get things wrong sometimes but as we know that is how we learn.
I have posted the answers to the last 10 minute maths sheet and grammar sheet and posted new ones today.
Work for tomorrow:
White Rose: Week 2
Year 3: Lesson 4 - Fractions of a set of objects
Year 4 - Hundredths on a place Value Grid
I would also like you to log into Classroom Secrets and click on your year group and the maths tab to find the following:
Year 3: Arithmetic quiz 1
Year 4: Arithmetic quiz 1
On Classroom Secrets click on the reading tab under your year group.
Then find and complete the following online comprehensions.
Year 3: Moving to Marchton
Year 4: I asked my Dad again
Can you also please read more of your AR book. I will be reviewing the AR reports tomorrow and will be in touch with those of you who have not accessed a quiz yet.
You can also complete another reading task from the reading grid. (You can chose your AR book or an alternative from your own books)
Please continue to practise your spellings for the test next week.
In addition to this, I have attached a sheet which will help you practise nouns, adjectives and verbs. Please print this off if possible and complete it.
There are some online SPAG games on classroom secrets so have a play on there and find some that you enjoy. (you also may still have some SPAG sheets in your pack, if so get these out and have a go at one.)
Enjoy a healthy lunch and a break. Perhaps you could make lunch for your family.
In the afternoon, I have found a great science challenge for you to have a go at. I have attached the instructions above. Jacob and I will have a go at this as well.
Why not get creative and do some art work afterwards. How about creating your own self portrait. I think I will try and do my own and will post it on here for you to see tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing your work.
Quote of the day:
All things are difficult
Before they are easy.
