Thursday 30th April

Good morning the great class known as 6R-H.

The sun is shining and it makes me feel far better.

Last night, after Seth had gone to bed, myself and Lauren had a game of monopoly. It's my favourite board game and I absolutely smashed her. She got annoyed at me, because I kept buying things so she couldn't get a set. She thinks I was ruining the game, I was playing to win. There's nothing wrong with being competitive!

I hope you are all managing to do things like this around doing your school work!

I also watched some of the news and they were talking about us going back to school. Hopefully this is not too far away, but apparently it won't be the same as before - maybe only certain years in at a time. Whatever it is, I can't wait to see you all.

Have a good day.

For maths today I'd like you to focus on the white rose home learning. It's continuing our work on angles. Watch the video for Summer Term week 2 Lesson 3 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/, then do the worksheets and check the answers. This is another day of problem solving. Enjoy.

For Guided Reading we are going to look at Chapter 2 of 'Private Peaceful' - don't forget you can get the whole book online to read. https://fliphtml5.com/nbao/fomw/basic

Read the chapter, answer the questions and text mark. Then find the meaning of any words you don't know.

For English today you have another SPAG lesson.

The focus this time is on hyphens and dashes. The hyphen will hopefully remind you of your wonderful teacher! https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zmnwjhv

Finally this afternoon, we are going to concentrate on Wellbeing and Mindfulness. Mr Herman has sent the teachers a message about the fantastic videos online offering PE activities and we all know getting moving is one of the best ways to improve our mood - that is why we used to go outside on the running track most afternoons. He has also suggested you spend time doing fun activities with your families like tig or going on a walk for your daily exercise. If you remember back to the beginning of the year we were luck enough to take part in the Paws B mindfulness sessions and there is a video on youtube by Seth one of the trainers with a reminder about this - Many of you absolutely loved this so I'm sure you'll really enjoy this.
