Thursday 30th April
I hope you are all well today. I can't believe that it is the last day of April today. Wow! We have not seen each other at all this month. In some ways it has seemed like forever and in other ways, it has gone really fast.
Did you enjoy the Taking Flight Activities yesterday? I hope so. I really loved that video when I found it and thought you would like it too. Please send me some examples of the work you did. I like to see what you have been doing.
I have been continuing writing reports and doing some on line learning of my own, which I am enjoying. We are always learning new things, even as adults.
Jacob and I made pancakes for breakfast yesterday too. I tried to toss it and it ended up in my hair. We could not stop laughing!
Please see below for today's work:
Today I would like you to complete some online reading comprehensions. I have attached a Year 3 and a Year 4 comprehension but they are short so you can have a go at both and see how you do.
Click on the Classroom Secrets links below to access them. (You will then need to log in)
Make sure you are still reading your AR books and taking quizes.
Today we are going to focus on using apostrophes for contractions. I would like you to watch the video from BBC bitesize.
I have then included a worksheet which you can print or write the answers in your exercise book and also a quiz which you can do on the computer.

Year 3 - Lesson 4 - Problem Solving
Year 4 - Lesson 4 - Ordering Money
Remember to do 30 minutes on TT Rockstars. I can see who is really improving their scores. Some of you are doing amazing.
Take a break for your lunch. (Thinking about your Eat Well Task yesterday, is it a healthy lunch?)
After lunch, I want you to become a designer and a scientist! I have attached a task outlining an activity which involves designing and testing your own parachute.
Design and Test a Parachute
Finally, I would like you to do some art today. I would like you to draw the image you can see from the window of you house.
Does this image change at different times during the day?
Can you create a series of images showing the differences in light, colour, objects?
I look forward to seeing them, so please ask your grown ups to email them to me.
Love from Mrs Martin
