Good Morning Class 1/2A and Parent
I hope you are all well and had good day yesterday. It was a shame the weather has changed but we do need the rain because the weather has been so hot for past few weeks. It has been lovely for us to enjoy the warm weather whilst we have been at home. How did you get on with the English work and which poem was your favourite? I would love to see your amazing art work of castle hill. Please send me some pictures of your work and it would be lovely to see them.
Are you ready to practice day of the week?
Click on the link to watch the video clips and then complete the quiz at the end.
Let’s do a mindfulness activity. Just click on the video.
Here's the link to today's Flashback:
Yesterday, your work was all linked to the 2x table. Did you practice all of your skills on the Hit the Button game?
Today, we're consolidating your learning on the 5x table.
Here's today's video:
Here are the worksheets to do. I think you'll whizz through these again but take care particularly with the missing number problems. When you fill in the missing number, read the calculation through from left to right to make sure that it makes sense.
You'll definitely be very familiar with both of these super games by now. You can focus on the 5x table or any other times tables that you know that you need to practice.
Which game do you like best? My favourite is 'Hit the Button'
Mental Maths Train Game Choose the X carriage
Here are today's Problems of the Day:
I thinks time for us to get moving with super movers. Let’s try level 2
today. When you are ready click on link to play the video.
Can you remember what your 5 senses are from when we did our Marvellous Me topic?
When poets are thinking of ideas from their poems, they often think about their senses. Today’s tasks will have you doing the same.
a) Middle task from Spring poem senses
b) Now use your ideas to write a Spring sensory poem.
You will need a pair of rhyming couplets for each of the senses.
Here’s my idea for the first pair of lines:
Spring looks like baby goslings being born,
Then waddling around searching for grass and corn.
You can use this sheet or write it out yourself on your own paper.
Lunch Time: Are you ready for some lunch?
I hope you are enjoying the story as much as I am so far. Let’s look at the next part of the story and see if your predictions were correct. You can listen to the story from the beginning again if you like. Stop listening at 4.28.
Click on the video to play.
You can pause the story at any time to answer the questions. There is a word search to complete at the end, as well as an activity to design your own planet! Here is your task:
Are you ready for another exciting story, make sure you are sitting nice and comfortably.
Click on the video when you are ready.
I hope you have a wonderful day and please let me know if you are enjoying the activities.
Bye for now and see you all tomorrow.
Take care and keep safe.
