Click on the PowerPoint and focus on Lesson 2:

In today’s Maths lesson we are going to be learning days of the weeks

Do you know any special events? What month are they in?

Click on the PowerPoint slides: Children will progress from the timing of events to identifying the days of the week in the correct order. It is important they can identify today, yesterday and tomorrow.

Children will then identify the months of the year along with key events such as Christmas, birthdays, etc. Children should be able to understand what month comes before and after a given month.
Ask questions such as:
What are the days of the week?
What day is it today?
How many days in a week?
If today is __, what day was yesterday? What day is tomorrow?
What are the months of the year?
How many months are in a year?
Which month comes before / after __?
What month is your birthday?

Can you name a special event that happens in the month of __?

Independent Maths Activities:

Practical – Activity:
Sort the days of the week in order and then have a go at sorting the months of year in order.

Each afternoon this week, I would like you to choose an activity (or more than one if you wish) from this grid. If you click on the underlined links they will take you to recipes, code information, dance instructions and much more. What will you choose to do? I can't wait to find out. Let me know through emails, photographs or videos. Have fun!

How about finishing off your day with some singing.

You all love this song and I'm sure you're missing singing it.
