Y2 Phonics: Today’s phonics story is about Gnome’s Home and you are going to be learning to spell words containing gn.

 

 

Here are today’s phonics activities linked to the phonics story.

Activity 1: Help Mr Gnome design a sign for his underground tunnel. Include as many of this week’s focus words as you can!

Maths:  Today in Maths we are going to be learning about directions and turns using mathematical vocabulary. Full turn, half turn, quarter turn, three quarter turns,

Here are today’s videos:

 

There two short videos to watch about directions are instructions like 'three steps forward' or 'one step backwards'. These tell you how far to go.

Turns can be clockwise (the same way the hands on a clock move) or anti-clockwise (the opposite way to a clock's hands).

You can turn a quarter, half or complete turn - this would take you back to where you started.

Topic: 

Today in topic we are going to find out ways in which the weather during each season in equatorial and Polar Regions differs from the weather in the United Kingdom.

Extension Task:

For your extension activity we would like you to think of some question to ask Miss Sykes who has visited her family in the Philippines. We shall be finding out more about what the weather was like during her visit in our next topic lesson on Thursday.
