Good morning 1S! laugh

How are you today? Did you enjoy your first day back? Hopefully you have got back into some sort of routine.

This is the link if you would like to start your day with Joe Wicks PE: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

Here are some activities to complete today:

Phonics

Phase 5 Sentence Substitution. You will need to log in to access this game. https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/

Username: march20

https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/5 then find 'Sentences 5A'.

Have a go at reading the different sentences with the sounds we have learnt.

Please continue to practise your ‘20.04.20 Spellings’ for the test next week.

Maths

Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the ‘Maths’ Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 3 Day 2 today. Did you get 4/4 correct? There is also a Flashback at the start of your learning video, you can complete this too.

Warm up: Can you do 50 star jumps?

4) Click 'Get the answers'. Can somebody mark this for you?

Here is a problem to finish with:

English

Today you are going to write a letter to Bob using your questions from yesterday. Use this template to help you:

Please read through your letter and check for correct punctuation and spelling.

I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now!

Guided Reading:

Here are the answers to yesterday's questions:

An astronaut is a person who goes up into space.

When astronauts are on the moon, they travel around in a moon buggy.

The two verbs that show how the astronauts got to space are 'blasted' and 'whooshed'.

The moon looks as if it is changing shape because parts of it are lit by the sun.

Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon.

This is your own opinion! I would like to go to Space because it would be an amazing opportunity; not many people have been there. I would like to experience blasting up to the Moon in a super fast space rocket!

Today's Guided Reading work is all about vocabulary and word meanings:

David Walliams is also reading a story each day; today's story is 'Earnest Ernest’. Here is the link:

https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

Topic

Imagine you are going to the Moon, think carefully about what you would take with you.

Can you learn the different parts of the rocket? These will help you with tomorrow's task.

Can you guess what your task might be tomorrow?

RE

If your family is getting ready for Ramadan, how are your preparations going? Here's the Ramadan booklet again if you want to do some extra activities:

Singing

It should be Singing Assembly today so I thought I'd send you a link to some of the songs that we usually sing and a few new ones. I'm always singing at home, and getting told off for being too loud!

Try out Week ONE today. There is a song for each day of the week:

There are activities linked to each song, too.

Have a wonderful day! laugh
