How are you all this morning?  We hope you are all keeping well.

How did you get on with yesterday’s activities? How many of you got 10 out of 10 for your spellings? Remember you can continue to email us your work and pictures. We always look forward to receiving your pictures and videos - it brightens up our day. Did you enjoy reading the Winter poem? This afternoon we'll be doing some more topic work, but here are the activities to do first.

Phonics: Today’s phonics story is called ‘The Apple Tree’ and we are learning to spell words containing le saying /l/.

Activity 1: Add the missing letters to the apple tree.



Challenge: Proofread these sentences. Underline words that are not spelt correctly and write the correct spelling below.

Mental and Oral starter Activity:

Practice your daily 10 challenge. Click on Level 2 then click on Addition Missing Numbers - two digit numbers. Record your answers on paper or whiteboard for each question. Click on the manual time set button. Answer all 10 questions then check your answers at the end. Then play the game again and see if you can beat your score.

Today in English we are going to read another Wintry Verbs Poem. Read the poem a couple of times with fluency and expression. Here is a quick reminder of what a verb is:



Task 1: Draw a circle around all the verbs in this poem.



Task 2: Complete the spaces below using these different verbs. Make sure your word choices make sense.


Now you are going to write your own wintry poem. Here is a template to get you started.

Try writing your own snow poem in the same way. There are some nouns which you could use to begin each line with.

Today we're going to look at the city of Tromsø, Norway. The slide shows its location on a globe. Is it near the North Pole, South Pole, or Equator? Click on the slides when you are ready.



How might its weather be different to the weather in the UK?

Can you imagine what it would be like to live in Tromsø? What sort of fun, winter weather activities could you do there?

Stop at slide 14 as we will continue with rest of the topic in tomorrow’s art lesson.
