Tuesday 24th March 2020
Good morning guys,
I hope that you managed to access the work from yesterday with no issues. If not, you can always go back into that folder and have a go.
It still feels strange setting you work, but not seeing all of your lovely faces. I spent my day at home with my family, completing my own online learning tasks that Mrs Allen has set for all the teachers. I hope you’re enjoying spending some more time with your family members.
Today’s maths work will still be looking at Fractions on the White Rose Maths website. You should've already completed lesson 1 yesterday which is about Unit and Non-Unit Fractions. Todays lesson is called 'Making the whole'. Like mentioned yesterday, there is a video to show you what to do, a worksheet to help you practise and then get someone to mark it for you using the answers.
Can you also look at adding and subtracting 10 and 100. There is a matching game on Classroom Secrets Kids (shown below). Remember you will need to login, which you can find in your home learning packs.
Adding tens and hundreds is something that we needed to continue to work on in class, so keep practicing. Remember, if you are adding 10s, the tens column will definitely change, and it may affect the hundreds column. However if the hundreds column changes, the tens and ones will stay the same.
You can also still be practicing your times tables, particularly your eight times table. There are 2 activities on Classroom Secrets Kids, and also some games on TopMarks.
In SPaG today, I would like you to have a go at the homophones sheet in your home learning packs. This looks at the spelling of groups of words, so will benefit your reading and writing skills.
In Classroom Secrets Kids, you can have a go at one of the spelling activities. You can access this by clicking Year 3 then Spelling and then click Spelling Activity for Year 3 and Year 4 Word Search.
Remember, you also have some reading activities to do, involving the reading activities grid, reading your Accelerated Reader books, and the reading comprehension booklets in your home learning packs.
You can read your books on your own, to an adult or brother and sister, or even your teddy. It’s up to you!
Science and topic
There are a range of fun and creative activities to do in the science and topic folders, so take your pick on which one you would like to do today!
If you haven't yet completed your toy for computing with Mrs Buttery, you can click the computing link on our class home page.
Speak to you tomorrow. Stay safe, keep smiling and I’ll see you soon!
