Good morning 1S! laugh

I hope you enjoyed your first day back yesterday. I know that you will continue to work hard during this term! Please remember to share any work and pictures with me- I will add them to our website for your friends to also see.

This is the link if you would like to start with a Joe Wicks workout: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

Here are some activities to complete today:

Phonics

Phase 5 Alternative Spellings /or/. You will need to log in to access this game. https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk

Username: march20

Password: home

Click:

Resources

Phase 5

Then scroll down to ‘Phase 5c Interactive Resources - Weeks 8-30’ and find ‘Alternative Spellings /or/’.

In ‘Phoneme Spotter’ you need to see how many different graphemes you can find for the /or/ phoneme- you could list the words. In ‘Word Sort’ you need to read the word, then sort it to the grapheme used.

Remember, you need to be able to apply these different spellings in different words. Can you write some of these words?

Please continue to practise your '01.06.20 Spellings' for our test next week.

Maths

Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the ‘Maths’ Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 8 Day 2 today. Did you get 4/4 correct?

Warm up: Can you write the numerals to 100? Ask a grown up or sibling to choose a number, then tell them 1 more and 1 less than this number.

Access the Home Learning Lesson 2 - ‘Recognise and name 2D shapes’ from White Rose Maths. We have already covered some 2D shape activities in school so you should be fairly confident with this.

1) Watch this video:

Year 1 - Week 6 - Alternative Lesson 2 - Recognise and name 2-D shapes

2) Here is your activity. If you can’t print this off, could you write your answers down on a piece of paper?

 3) Here are the answers. Can somebody mark this for you?

Here is a problem to finish with:

Break time

Time for a break! Supermovers- Liverpool Bounce.

Today we are continuing with poetry, can you remember which season we are starting with?

Our next poem is called ‘Hello to Spring’.

Here are the answers:

Guided Reading

Yesterday, you made some predictions about our new book: The Smeds and The Smoos. We are now going to listen to the first part of the story. Please click this link and

and stop listening at 1.15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKjjFh7dQsg

We will listen to more parts of the story each day this week. You can pause the story at any time to answer the questions. Here are your tasks:

Topic

Watch these videos and decide which season you think it is:

Look through this PowerPoint and guess which season you think you can see. Explain why you think it’s that season.

Your task is to sort the items to each season, think carefully about what you would need, use or see in each season!

I hope you've had a fab day!
