Tuesday 31st March 2020

Good morning 5/6AA.  It was lovely to receive emails from some of your parents (and from yourselves) with news of how you are getting on.  I know that there have been a lot of unexpected changes recently and this has been unsettling, but try to think of this as an opportunity to do the things that you wouldn't normally have the time to do.  Ava and I have been doing the Joe Wicks PE workouts every morning and I really enjoy them.  Normally, I hardly ever exercise but I'm surprised at how much I look forward to these workouts now.  So, please make sure that every day you set aside some time to do something that you really enjoy.  But first, let's do some work.  Here are your tasks for today:

Maths

Go to whiterosemaths.com - home learning - year 5 - week 2.  Watch the video for lesson 2 (step 7 - order and compare decimals), then complete the worksheet by clicking underneath get the activity.  Once you have finished, check your answers.

Reading

Continuing with the diary theme, read the diary entry from Ratburger and then answer the questions.  You can also use the Ratburger diary entry to help you with your own diary entry that you will be writing next.

Reading

Please click on the files below to get your work for today.  Read the Twits excerpt first.  For the questions you need to decide whether the statement is true or just a rumour (not sure of it has actually happened).

Whole class

Writing

Write your diary entry for yesterday.  Add as much detail as you can and remember to write your thoughts and feelings.  I'm really looking forward to reading these.  The checklists from yesterday are below.  There is also a template that you can use if you want to.

Topic / afternoon work.

Watch the video of the Easter story, then write the story in your own words.  You can write on the story of Easter file below or you can write it in your yellow books.  Once you have finished, you can have a go at the Easter word search.

For Computing, Mrs Buttery has asked that we access Code for Life levels 29-32. You'll be using loops with conditions this week. These are starting to get trickier, so take care when you are completing them. You'll find the link in the Computing folder.
