Guten morgen 1S! That is 'Good morning' in German!
Hope you have woken up feeling nice and fresh. However strange it may seem to not be together in class, I am so proud of you all for continuing to work hard from home! You are all fantastic!
I emailed all of your parents yesterday so that you can contact me if you have any questions, if you want to share your work with me or if you just want to let me know what you have been up to. Last week felt really strange so I hope that this will make things better. If you haven't received an email, please email the school office:
Remember that Joe Wicks is doing a live PE lesson at 9am everyday! (I enjoyed the 'Musketeers' move yesterday!) If you miss this at 9am, it is saved on his Youtube channel so don't worry! Here is the link again:
Here are some activities to complete today:
Phase 5 Dragon's Den:
Click ‘Revise all Phase 5’.
Segment and blend to read the words, then decide if they are real or nonsense!
Don't forget to practise your spellings for next week in the 'Spellings' folder.
Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the Maths Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 2 Day 2 today.
Warm up: Can you write the numerals and words to 30?

Here is a problem to finish with:
Let’s think about an introduction to your diary. Please write this down on a piece of paper.
You will need to explain:
- why life is rather different right now;
- where you are and who you are with;
- why you have decided to write a diary.
Here’s my WAGOLL (What A Good One Looks Like)
Everything is very different at the moment because of the Coronavirus. We have all been asked to stay indoors to prevent the virus from spreading. I am at home with my partner, Tom; there is just the two of us. I have decided to write this diary to record what I have been doing whilst at home. I will write about my thoughts and feelings and the most important parts of my day.
Using the paper pack sent home, read the second part of the text from the story 'The Town Mouse And The Country Mouse’. This is a new story, can you apply your skills to find the answers? Remember, the answers are in the text, you need to carefully reread the text and underline then copy the answers.
David Walliams is also reading a story each day; today's story is 'Tandy's Trantrums'. Here is the link:
I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now!
Did anyone draw the tiger yesterday? For today's work about big cats, you will need to look again at the 7 continents. I'd also like you to revise the 5 oceans, too. They are key learning for the end of KS1 and most of you were really good at knowing about these last time we did them.
Now add the names of the continents and oceans to this map. Copy the spellings carefully, please.
The continents are made up of lots of countries. Use the internet - safely, of course - to find out where these species of big cats live.
1) Which countries do they live in?
2) Which continent are these countries in?
A good place to start is typing into Google: Where do lions live?
Big Cats to research:
White Bengal Tiger
Have a great day!
