Good Morning class 1/2A,

I hope you are all well, how was your day yesterday. Did you all receive my email yesterday? It was lovely to hear back from some of you and it makes me feel so proud how hard some of you are working. Your grown ups are so proud of you, so please keep up the good work!! I emailed all of your parents yesterday so that you can contact me if you have any questions, if you want to share your work with me or if you just want to let me know what you have been up to. If you haven't received an email, please email the school office:

Having a daily routine is really important for us all, it’s good to have breaks and do something fun when you are not doing your school work. It is important to keep yourself active and healthy, remember that positive Growth Mind set is important whilst we are not able to come to school. I know it’s a really tricky time for us all but we all need to keep our families and ourselves safe and well.

Remember that Joe Wicks is doing a live PE lesson at 9am everyday! (I enjoyed the 'Musketeers' move yesterday!) If you miss this at 9am, it is saved on his Youtube channel so don't worry! Here is the link again:

If you have finished reading all your books then please don’t worry. You can ask a grown up to help you find a suitable book to read on this website link:

You can also listen to lots of audio stories on this website link:

In English today I would like you to highlight the features of diary. I have put an example together for you. If you are unsure remember to look at yesterday’s diary features. Can you highlight the diary features?

Sunday 29.3.20

Dear Diary,

Today has been great! It was my birthday today and I got a lot of presents from my friends and family. My favourite was a big, green dinosaur. After I opened all my presents I went to my friend Yasmin’s house and we played hide and seek.

Then my mum came to pick me up and take me to my Grandma’s house for a birthday meal. Next we went to visit my sister, we had to drive for a very long time. My sister made me a yummy chocolate cake and I had two slices!

Finally we went back home to go to bed. It was past my bedtime and very dark!

  Let’s think about an introduction to your diary.

You will need to explain:

  • why life is rather different right now;
  • where you are and who you are with;
  • why you have decided to write a diary.

Here’s my WAGOLL:

  • Life is rather different right now because of the Coronavirus. To keep us safe, we have all been asked to stay in our homes as much as possible to stop this virus from spreading. I am at home with my Mum, Dad and my daughter Madihah. I have decided to write this diary to record what I have been doing. I will write about the most important parts of my day – not the boring bits – and my thoughts and feelings.

Diary Example for Highlighting Features

In Maths I would like you to continue with unit of work on Measuring Mass using White Rose website: week 1 Lesson 2.
