Good morning 1S!
How are you today? I hope you have had a positive start to the week. I have been told that you have enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of your friends, so please keep emailing me!
Here is the link if you would like to start your day with Joe Wicks PE: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1
Here are some activities to complete today:
Phase 5 Acorn Adventures. You will need to log in to access this game. https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/
Then scroll down to ‘Phase 5b Interactive Resources - Weeks 5-7’ and find ‘Acorn Adventures’.
We are again going to focus on a letter having alternative pronunciations. I would like you to focus on the last row of letters: y, ch, c, g, ey. Read the word and decide how to pronounce the y, ch, c, g, ey then drag the acorn to the tree that shows a word with the same pronunciation. Can you practise writing some of these words with alternative pronunciations?
Please continue to practise your ‘04.05.20 Spellings’ for our test next week.
Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the ‘Maths’ Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 5 Day 2 today. Did you get 4/4 correct?
Warm up: Can you write the words zero - twenty?

4) Click 'Get the answers'. Can somebody mark this for you?
Here is a problem to finish with:
Edit and produce a neat copy of your postcard with a picture of the Moon on the front.
Check your punctuation, have you used capital letters and full stops?
Have you used clear finger spaces?
Have you used the correct letter formation?
Could you extend any of your sentences?
Could you add in some adjectives?
I'd love to see your postcards. Please send them to me when you've finished.
I'm sure you are ready for some lunch now!
When you open today's reading task you should recognise the paragraph that I asked you to punctuate yesterday.
There are three different levels on today's 'All about Spring' text. Which will you challenge yourself to do? The answers are included too.
David Walliams is also reading a story each day. Here is the link:
Special work for V.E. Day
As I told you yesterday, this week is a special one.
Here's a PowerPoint to help you learn why we are having a special day in the UK - and across the world - on Friday:
Each afternoon this week, I would like you to choose an activity (or more than one if you wish) from this grid. If you click on the underlined links they will take you to recipes, code information, dance instructions and much more. What will you choose to do? I can't wait to find out. Let me know through emails, photographs or videos. Have fun!
How about finishing off your day with some singing.
You all love this song and I'm sure you're missing singing it.
Have a fab day!
