Tuesday 5th May

Happy Tuesday

So I hope you enjoyed the start of our work on VE day yesterday. I have noticed that there are lots of programmes on the television about VE day, so you have lots of opportunities to find out more. Ava and I watched a documentary about Female pilots in the Second World War, I had no idea how many female pilots there were and how dangerous their jobs were. Also, I emailed parents yesterday and some of you have contacted older relations or see if you have photos of relatives that did important jobs in the war or even images of the celebrations that happened at the end of the war. Which is so fantastic. Newsround also has some information so that is a great place to start.

Maths is the same as always, I am asking you look at the White Rose Home learning.

Summer Term - Week 3 (w/c 4th May) - Lesson 2 - Multiply 4-digits by 2-digits

Again, this is revision of the arithmetic skills we have been practicing all year and some of you have this mastered. So I am going to put  challenge on here for you as well. Give it a try.

For Guided Reading we are keeping working on the WW2 theme. Today it is Winston Churchill, who was certainly an inspiring leader. Answers are on the final page.

For English, we have another Spag activity mat. If you get them wrong don't forget to find out more by watching the clips on BBC Bitesize -

We are also going to continue working on the VE day activities, I have attached it again today, chose a different activity to do today. Don't forget to send me an email through with the work you produce.

Finally today, Mrs Murtza has been cooking at home and has made a video (which is on the Facebook page) why not have a go at cooking at home with your parents, it looks delicious. Mrs Allen has also updated the website with a PE folder, inside is a document with a whole list of activities you can do at home, some which require little or no equipment. If you are looking for something fun to do why not take a look.

Stay safe and I will speak to you all tomorrow.
