Wednesday 20th May
Morning - today is going to be belter, so although I'd like you to do your work, I'd also like you to make the most of the weather - go for a walk with your family, or play in the garden.
I plan to blow up Seth's paddling pool and get the bbq on - after I've done all my work of course.
Sorry I didn't write an intro yesterday, we've been incredibly busy planning for when school re-opens, that I just didn't have time.
As always, I did think of you all and what you'd be up to. It seems very strange that when we go back on June 1st not all of us will be together; this makes me really sad, but equally I completely understand people's decisions.
Yesterday Seth sang the whole of Old Macdonald has a farm. I was super impressed by him. Even more so by what he believed the words to be: 'Apples and Bananas had a farm, eiei-ow'.
Enjoy the sun - speak soon.
For maths today I'd like you to focus on the white rose home learning. This week is based on decimals
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/ Week 5 lesson 3.
Watch the video and then do the sheets that I have attached (they are no longer given on the website).
Afterwards, I'd like you to do more practice from this link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zmbxhbk
For Guided Reading we have an extract from Harry Potter, it's the first time he gets on the Hogwarts Express, when he meets Ron and when he gets to try Bertie's Every Flavour Bean. Don't forget you can listen to the book on audible for free - https://stories.audible.com/pdp/B017V54W6O?ref=adbl_ent_anon_ds_pdp_pc_pg-1-cntr-0-0.
For English today, I'd like you to focus on this task from BBC Bitesize - it is about letter writing. An important skill and something you will all require at some stage of your life (I realise it has largely been replaced by email, but it is still vital for certain businesses).
