Guided Reading:

Lunch time:

Am sure you are ready for some lunch.

Guided Reading Task:

Practice reading the text again using fluency and expression.

Today I would like you to complete a SPaG task using the guided reading text.

Did you guess what today's topic task was going to be?

Yes, I'd like you to design and make a rocket!

You could make one that will fit in the palm of your hand or one that is as long as your arm. If you're really up for a challenge, you could make a fancy dress outfit and transform yourself into a space rocket!

What will you use for the body tube?

How will you give your space rocket a nose?

What will you create the fins from?

How will you make it look as if there are flames coming from the exhaust?

Have a good look around at home. Check out the recycling - that's always a great place to look for things for projects like this.

First, complete a design sheet. You will need to do a labelled drawing. Name the parts and show what they will be made from. Also give details of how you will attach the parts together. You might want to give sizes too.

Story time:

Choose a story from this website to listen to.

I hope you have a fun day designing and making your rocket. Please send some pictures of your rocket.

Would you like to access another activity linked to Ramadan? Here is the activity booklet:

I hope you all have fun day designing and making your rockets. Please can you send me some pictures of your rocket.

Bye for now and see you all tomorrow!!
