Good morning 1S!
I hope you have woken up feeling positive and ready for your learning today. Some of you have sent me emails, showing me what you have been up to; these emails definitely make me smile and brighten up my day so please keep them coming!
This is the link if you would like to start your day with Joe Wicks PE: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1
Here are some activities to complete today:
Phase 5 Reading Robot. You will need to log in to access this game. https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/
https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/5 then find ‘Reading Robot’.
For today, go to ‘Phases’ then ‘Phase 5’. Read the real and nonsense words.
Please continue to practise your ‘20.04.20 Spellings’ for the test next week.
Start each day with a page from the Flashbacks. They're saved in the ‘Maths’ Folder. Remember, this will consolidate what we have already learnt! You should be on Week 3 Day 3 today. Did you get 4/4 correct? There is also a Flashback at the start of your learning video, you can complete this too.

Did you guess what today's topic task was going to be?
Yes, I'd like you to design and make a rocket!
You could make one that will fit in the palm of your hand or one that is as long as your arm. If you're really up for a challenge, you could make a fancy dress outfit and transform yourself into a space rocket!
What will you use for the body tube?
How will you give your space rocket a nose?
What will you create the fins from?
How will you make it look as if there are flames coming from the exhaust?
Have a good look around at home. Check out the recycling - that's always a great place to look for things for projects like this.
First, complete a design sheet. You will need to do a labelled drawing. Name the parts and show what they will be made from. Also give details of how you will attach the parts together. You might want to give sizes too.
Now it's time to make your rocket. Enjoy!
