Wednesday 24th June

Happy Wednesday Year 3,

What a lovely week of sunshine we are having. Last night, after we had eaten our dinner we sat in the garden for a while enjoying the evening sunshine. It was lovely and it made me feel happy.

Yesterday, the Key worker children had some visitors. The chickens that hatched in reception before lockdown came back to school. Have a look on the school Facebook page to watch a video and see some photos. I don't know who enjoyed it most, the children or the chickens.

Enjoy the sunshine this week. Make sure you get outside whenever you can. (Check with your grown ups first though!!)

Speak to you tomorrow.

Love Mrs Martin.

Good morning Year 3!

How are you all?

It would be lovely to hear from you and find out how you're all doing.

Yesterday Mrs Martin, Miss Anwar and I were busy planning more lessons for you all when you get back to school. I worked on our new topic for Autumn Term 2, leading up to Christmas. It will be so exciting as there are some great practical activities for us to get stuck into.

Today, I am working with the Key Worker children in the Green Room. I hope you're all keeping yourself busy.

Speak tomorrow!

(We are halfway through the working week! Woo!)

Today you have 2 different comprehension activities to complete. They are both short pieces of text, with 4 questions for each. Have a read through and answer the questions on the sheet, or in your book.

SPaG/ Writing

Today's SPaG activity is all about Alliteration.

Alliteration is when words close together start with the same sound.

For example: Sammy the slippery snake went sliding by.

Watch this short clip to hear more examples of alliteration.

Complete the online activity on the same link as above.

Today's science lesson is all about Light and Dark. BBC bitesize has a great activity to explain more...
