Good morning everyone!

Hope you had a brilliant day yesterday! I had a very eventful day. I went into school in the morning to do my shift on the rota Mrs Allen has given us. However, no pupils turned up so I ended up going home! Mrs Ahmed did a teacher vlog this morning, which is on facebook! It was so weird going into our classroom and not hearing all the noisiness. It made me miss you all so much and I hope we get to come back into the classroom soon. We spruced up our displays on the last couple of days before school closed. I switched up the colours as I felt as though we could do with a fresh start once we get back!

Miss Rathor said there were lots of left over bananas in 2S and asked me if I wanted to take some home. They were very ripe and were turning brown so I decided to make banana bread. Sorry, I have no photos of this as we were too busy eating it! After my usual work on my laptop, this evening I watched a couple of old school Disney films on the Disney+ streaming service that has just launched. There are so many films/documentaries/programmes to watch (all from when I was a kid) and I would recommend it.

I said I would put a few pictures up from my visit to the Tutankhamun exhibition in London. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of his tomb, over 150 authentic artefacts from Tutankhamun's tomb were put on display. This is the first time that some of the pieces have left Egypt - they will be returning on the 2nd May 2020 (sadly, the exhibition is closed at the moment). The pieces were in immaculate condition and each told their own story about the Pharaoh. Ancient Egypt is a common Year 3/4 topic so you may know a lot about Tutankhamun's story already. The masks and caskets were so intricately designed - they were beautiful.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Work is uploaded below.

Happy Wednesday xxx

Start your day right with Joe Wickes and his PE Lesson. I'm no Olympic athlete but I am really enjoying his videos. Weather permitting, we might try doing one of his workouts in the garden. I have also seen that Oti Mabuse from Strictly Come Dancing will be running LIVE dance classes on Facebook from 11.30am. Have a go at it!

Please complete lesson 3 - you know the drill. Tutorial. Worksheet. Mark. Someone mentioned that lesson 2 was very similar to lesson 1. Lesson 1 focused on tenths and hundreths as fractions (parts of a whole). Lesson 2 focused on tenths (fractions) becoming decimals. The white rose maths scheme is a small step process so there will be an overlap at points - this is to consolidate and reinforce learning. have a go at these if you want a bit of challenge with reasoning/problem solving.

David Walliams has announced that he will be uploading FREE audios of his stories everyday at 11am. I can't wait to hear what he will read today.

Don't forget to read your accelerated reader book (30 minutes is a decent amount of time!)

Spelling test day - get a grown up or sibling to test you! As soon as I am given the next lot of spellings, I will upload them on here for you to learn!

Do a wordsearch on classroom secrets.

I want you to do something creative today - try baking something and writing a set of instructions. Have a look on the Fixby facebook page at the design a rainbow task. Create your own rainbow using whatever materials you choose. Many children around the world are designing their own rainbows and putting them in their windows to show solidarity. Let's create our own Fixby set of rainbows to show our support. This is a link for a live art lesson at 11am. This is for Year 6 but I'm sure you fabulous lot can do it too! I believe it is a youtube video (copy and paste the link into your search bar!)

On a wednesday afternoon, we have carousel (music, science and computing) If you haven't finished the work you started with Mrs Buttery in computing, complete that.

Take care and a have good day!
