World Book Day 2023
This year we celebrated World Book day in true fairy tale fashion!
We also added a twist into this years WBD by creating a 'who done it' investigation, to find out who ate the 3 bears porridge! All the children investigated the 'crime scene' to find clues and identify the culprit. This really opened their imagination and detective skills. Year 5 & 6 children were then given the opportunity to 'interview' the suspects.
Year 3 & 4 pupils wrote alternative endings to the story Goldilocks and the 3 bears while KS1 wrote recounts.
The day ended with a whole school assembly where the real culprit was revealed! It was ... Prince Charming.
Children and staff alike, thoroughly enjoyed the day. The whole school thoroughly embraced World book day and had so much fun!
Remember the aim of world book day is to encourage children to read more books.

This year's focus was poetry and children listened to poetry and wrote some amazing poems about experiences during lockdown. Staff became the Masked Reader and read poems whilst in disguise and children enjoyed completing the quiz and working out 'Who was behind the mask?'.
